This series examines the use of advertisement in rural areas of the bible belt. The body of work also considers that the text and imagery used in advertising give insight into the lives of a local population. All of these locations are areas I have passed through, but never intended on arriving at. My decisions to stop and document each scene were dictated by quick glances of the displays while driving. Essentially, each of these “advertisements” were successful in their own cause by luring in my attention and curiosity. I purposely provide little context to surround the images. The resulting photographs may present more questions than a single conclusion.
